Laboratory of Swine Disease and Microbiology

The major research topics of Laboratory of Swine Disease and Microbiology focus on diagnoses, monitoring, surveillance, pathogenesis, prevention and control strategies of swine diseases. The research target microbes include common porcine bacterial, mycoplasmal and viral pathogens, like Glaesserella parasuis, Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Salmonella enterica, Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, Mycoplasma hyorhinis, porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus and porcine circovirus type 2. The general techniques and experiments of this laboratory are cell and pathogen culture and identification, antimicrobial susceptibility testings, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), real-time PCR, clone, sequence analyses of nucleotide and amino acid, protein expression, animal trials of vaccines and medications, histopathological examinations and clinical disease diagnosis, prevention and control.

豬病及微生物學研究室

本實驗室主要研究方向為豬隻疾病之監控、調查、致病機轉及防治策略。研究目標微生物包含豬隻常見細菌性、黴漿菌性及病毒性病原，如：副豬嗜血桿菌、胸膜肺炎放線桿菌、沙門氏菌、豬肺炎型黴漿菌、豬鼻炎型黴漿菌、豬生殖與呼吸綜合症病毒及豬第二型環狀病毒。本研究室常進行之實驗與普遍運用技術為細胞與病原培養與鑑定、抗微生物製劑敏感性試驗、聚合酶鏈鎖反應、即時定量聚合酶鏈鎖反應、基因選殖、核苷酸與氨基酸序列分析、蛋白質表現、疫苗與藥物動物實驗、組織病理學檢查以及臨床疾病診療與預防。
