LABORATORY of Veterinary Pharmacology

The teaching aspect provides students with the professional knowledge of veterinary pharmacology, which can be used to enhance students’ learning of veterinary pharmacology. Construct a good learning place for veterinary pharmacology, provide students with veterinary hospital pharmacy to conduct clinical compounding internship opportunities, and expand the scope and application of this field. Other teachings include veterinary public health, traditional Chinese veterinary medicine, laboratory animal science, animal welfare and so on, which lays the foundation for students to apply in clinical diagnosis and treatment related fields.
The research aspect is to study the tests of stability, potency, safety and general tests, reproduction, genetics, carcinogenicity, repeated dose toxicity and other test standards of animal pharmaceuticals products based on the Veterinary International Conference on Harmonization (VICH). In the field of drug residue research, microbiological methods and physicochemical analysis methods are used to establish standard inspection methods for various types of animal drugs in feed or animal products, and to provide reference for the establishment of national standards and field application. In addition, in the mechanism and application of pharmaceuticals to animal disease treatment, strengthening cognition of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, research on drug residues in food animal products, etc., guiding students to learn basics and research to strengthen students’ interest to study of veterinary pharmacology.
Participate the meat inspection hygiene management system in country, such as the application for establishment or change review of slaughterhouses and on-site visiting work, and participate in the use of animals for scientific application institute inspection and counseling, hoping to improve meat inspection hygiene and also ensure the quality of laboratory animals used and raising the concept of animal protection.

獸醫藥理學研究室

教學方面提供學生對獸醫藥理學應有之專業知識學以致用，以提升學生對獸醫藥理學的學習。建構獸醫藥理學良好的學習場所，提供學生至動物醫院藥局進行臨床藥物調劑實習機會，拓展對此領域的認知與應用範圍。其他的教學為獸醫公共衛生學、中獸醫學、實驗動物學、動物福祉等學科，奠定學生應用於臨床診療的相關領域的學習基礎。

研究方面為研析國際動物用藥品法規(VICH)有關動物用藥之安定性、效力試驗基準、安全試驗基準及一般性試驗、生殖、遺傳、致癌、重複劑量毒性等試驗基準。在藥物殘留研究領域，使用微生物學方法、物理化學分析法，以建立飼料或畜產品中多種類動物用藥品的標準檢驗方法，提供國家建立標準與現場實際應用之參採。此外，在藥物對動物疾病治療的機制與應用、強化藥物動力學與藥效學的認知、藥物對食用動物產品殘留的研究等方面，引導學生基礎與研究相配合，強化學生對獸醫藥理學學習的興趣。

參與我國肉品衛生管理相關業務，如屠宰場申請設立或變更審查以及現場會勘工作，以及參與利用動物進行科學應用機構查核與輔導業務，冀望對屠宰衛生的提昇及確保實驗動物品質與動物保護等方面有所助益。
