Laboratory of Wildlife Medicine
The Laboratory of Wildlife Medicine focuses on wildlife health, disease management, and reproductive control. Our research integrates disease surveillance, vaccinology, and immunocastration vaccine development, with an emphasis on non-invasive diagnostics. We study infectious diseases in wildlife, such as parvovirus in leopard cats and zoonotic diseases in Formosan macaques, while developing fertility control strategies for invasive species. We have strong partnerships with the Wildlife Disease Ecology Lab (Prof. Chen-Chih Chen) at NPUST’s Institute of Wildlife Conservation and the Wild Immunity Group at the Menzies Medical Institute (Prof. Andy Flies), University of Tasmania. Through a multidisciplinary approach, we contribute to wildlife conservation, ecosystem health, and sustainable population control. Passionate individuals are welcome to join us in this exciting field.
